Green Detox Cucumber Mint (Printable Version)

Cool, hydrating cucumber and mint agua fresca with lime and agave—bright, simple, and naturally refreshing.

# Ingredient List:

→ Vegetables & Herbs

01 - 2 large cucumbers, peeled and roughly chopped
02 - 1 packed cup fresh mint leaves
03 - 1 small handful fresh cilantro, optional

→ Citrus

04 - Juice of 2 limes (about 3 tablespoons)

→ Sweetener

05 - 2 tablespoons agave syrup (substitute honey or maple syrup if desired)

→ Liquids

06 - 4 cups cold filtered water
07 - 1 cup ice cubes, plus extra for serving

→ Garnish

08 - Cucumber slices
09 - Lime wedges
10 - Sprigs of fresh mint

# Directions:

01 - Peel and roughly chop the cucumbers. Remove any coarse stems from the mint and, if using, roughly chop the cilantro. Juice the limes.
02 - Place chopped cucumbers, mint leaves, cilantro (optional), lime juice, agave syrup, cold water and 1 cup ice into a high-speed blender.
03 - Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and homogenous, about 30–45 seconds depending on your blender.
04 - Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher, pressing or squeezing to extract as much liquid as possible. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
05 - Fill glasses with ice, pour the strained beverage over ice and garnish with cucumber slices, lime wedges and mint sprigs. For a sparkling option, top each glass with a splash of chilled sparkling water.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The flavor is crisp and herbal, like a spa day in a glass shared between friends.
  • It comes together in minutes yet feels like you’ve treated yourself to something special.
02 -
  • If you skip straining, the texture is much thicker—almost like a smoothie—and it doesn’t feel quite as refreshing.
  • Swapping agave for honey or maple syrup totally changes the flavor; I learned to taste after blending to keep it just right.
03 -
  • Always strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth for the silkiest drink—paper towels rarely cut it.
  • Smacking mint leaves between your hands releases the oils and gives greater aroma both in the pitcher and as garnish.
