Valentines Day Strawberry Tiramisu (Printable Version)

Elegant cups with mascarpone, juicy strawberries, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers create a romantic dessert delight.

# Ingredient List:

→ Strawberry Layer

01 - 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

→ Mascarpone Cream

04 - 1 cup mascarpone cheese, room temperature
05 - 1/2 cup heavy cream, cold
06 - 1/4 cup powdered sugar
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Assembly

08 - 12 ladyfinger biscuits
09 - 1/2 cup brewed coffee, cooled
10 - 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur, optional
11 - Fresh strawberries for garnish
12 - Fresh mint leaves for garnish
13 - Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting

# Directions:

01 - Combine sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes to release juices and soften.
02 - In a large bowl, beat room temperature mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold whipped cream into mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
03 - Pour cooled brewed coffee into a shallow dish and stir in coffee liqueur if using.
04 - Break ladyfingers in half if needed to fit serving glasses. Briefly dip each piece into coffee mixture, avoiding excessive soaking.
05 - Place 2 to 3 coffee-soaked ladyfinger pieces in bottom of each serving glass. Spoon mascarpone cream layer over ladyfingers, then add layer of macerated strawberries. Repeat layering sequence, finishing with mascarpone cream on top.
06 - Cover cups and refrigerate for minimum 2 hours, or up to overnight, allowing flavors to meld and develop.
07 - Top each cup with fresh strawberry slices, mint leaves, and light dusting of unsweetened cocoa powder before serving.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It looks like you spent hours fussing when really you're just layering things that want to be together.
  • Coffee and strawberries have this unexpected chemistry that somehow tastes even better than you'd imagine.
  • The whole thing chills while you light candles and set the table, which feels like actual adult behavior.
  • Individual servings mean no fighting over the last spoonful and no messy plating at the actual moment of truth.
02 -
  • The ladyfinger dip is a dip, not a soak, or you end up with soggy mush that dissolves into the cream instead of holding its shape and adding texture.
  • Room temperature mascarpone matters more than you think it does because cold mascarpone will break and become grainy instead of creamy, ruining the whole thing.
  • Whipped cream needs to stay whipped, which means you fold it gently instead of stirring it aggressively like you're angry at it.
03 -
  • Make the mascarpone cream mixture ahead and keep it in the fridge, then assemble the cups an hour or two before serving so you're not frantic at the last minute.
  • If your mascarpone starts to break or separate while you're beating it, switch to folding it by hand with a spatula instead of continuing to use the mixer, and it'll usually come back together.
  • Keep extra macerated strawberries on the side because people always want more berries than you think they will, and having them means no regrets.
